A competency test: NCS Markers
Teachers who wish to mark the NSC, must write a competency test, in certain subjects, and achieve 60% or higher to be considered.
Competency tests consist of:
- a question paper and annexure book.
- Each test 20% content, 30% memo interpretation skills and 50% marking skills.
- Therefore it will be required for teachers to mark learners' responses (with a red pen) as part of the paper.
- The section on memo interpretation is where teachers must provide an answer or if an answer is provided, they have to indicate how the marks will be allocated to the answer.

- There is no time for re-designing your subjects completely. However, most of the tools and teaching strategies used in this LMS will be the same – with allowances for continuous improvement and adoption based on contextual, subject, as well as learning need differences.
